QuickBooks POS: What Can I Import?

 

Today’s topic is going to be about the QuickBooks Point of Sale Import feature. We’re going to talk about what QuickBooks Point of Sale can import, before we discuss those things. One thing take note is that QuickBooks Point of sale cannot import past transactions from other QuickBooks Point of Sale machine. So with that out of the way let’s proceed.

  1. Head on to “File” menu → then “Utilities” → click on “Import”.
  2. The Data Import Wizard is a feature of QuickBooks Point of Sale that helps you with importing your data to QuickBooks Point of Sale. On this Dialogue box, it explains the function of the Data Import Wizard.
  3. We have four types of data that we can import:

    1. Inventory Items – The most used type of data out of the four. This will help you fill your inventory by just importing your inventory items from a spreadsheet. When you’re setting up your business at QuickBooks Point of Sale, you don’t have to manually input your items one by one.
    2. Item Pictures – This will help you import batches of pictures for each of your items in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
    3. Vendors – Helps in updating your Vendor List. If you want to export some of your vendors from your previous system and import them over to QuickBooks Point of Sale.
    4. Customers – This will import your customers from a different system with QuickBooks Point of Sale.
