Today we are going to talk about reversing historical documents. We have two historical documents Sales History and Receiving History.
Let’s begin:
- Go to “Sales History”.
- On your Sales history screen select a receipt you want to reverse. (for example, you choose Jenna Jenkins)
- On the details you will see that Jenna Jenkins has ordered two items Fuzzy Nightgown and Dozen Roses.
- So, for example, you have screwed this receipt or Jenna wants to return an item so you might want to undo it or probably reverse it.
- To reverse this receipt, select Jenna Jenkins in Sales History, then on the blue buttons select “Reverse”.
- You will see that the reverse copy of Jenna Jenkins is added at the bottom of the sales history. Also, you will see a Return stamp on the billings of Jenna Jenkins.
- This return receipt is actually going to populate or add the quantities back into inventory.
- You will see on the Old receipt the it is already stamp with Reversed.

- Now we’re done Reversing a receipt in one of the historical documents in QuickBooks point of sale.
You can also do this to Receiving History.
- Go to “Receiving History”
- Select a receipt you want to reverse.
- On the blue buttons select “Reverse”.
