QuickBooks POS: Reverse Historical Documents

Today we are going to talk about reversing historical documents. We have two historical documents Sales History and Receiving History.

Let’s begin:

  1. Go to “Sales History”.
  2. On your Sales history screen select a receipt you want to reverse. (for example, you choose Jenna Jenkins)
  3. On the details you will see that Jenna Jenkins has ordered two items Fuzzy Nightgown and Dozen Roses.

    1. So, for example, you have screwed this receipt or Jenna wants to return an item so you might want to undo it or probably reverse it.
  4. To reverse this receipt, select Jenna Jenkins in Sales History, then on the blue buttons select “Reverse”.
  5. You will see that the reverse copy of Jenna Jenkins is added at the bottom of the sales history. Also, you will see a Return stamp on the billings of Jenna Jenkins.
    1. This return receipt is actually going to populate or add the quantities back into inventory.
  6. You will see on the Old receipt the it is already stamp with Reversed.
  7. Now we’re done Reversing a receipt in one of the historical documents in QuickBooks point of sale.

You can also do this to Receiving History.

  1. Go to “Receiving History”
  2. Select a receipt you want to reverse.
